Aircraft – Fairchild F24

Northwest picked up a pair of Fairchild’s single-engine high-wing design in 1936 for assorted non-scheduled uses. Side-by-side cockpit controls were useful for training and its robust construction made it handy to deliver a mechanic or supplies for resolving unscheduled stops for the main fleet, as well as to scout future landing strips for the airline’s westward expansion. It is unknown what became of these aircraft. (and we are looking for photos of NC15087, as well!)

If you use these photos, please credit the Northwest Airlines History Center – please also contact us to let us know how you’re using them and if we can be of further help!
