Ticket Jackets

Ticket jackets were a piece of airline ephemera that started early in the industry’s childhood and lasted well into the digital age of e-ticketing, and outside of timetables, were some of the most-commonly updated printed materials put out by the carriers. The Northwest Family was no exception, with dozens and dozens of jackets produced. While we aren’t aware of any master database in the airliner enthusiast community, we will strive to scan and post any unique jackets we come across!

And if you have ticket jackets in your collection to share, we’d be very happy to post them here!

In 1972, North Central and National Rent-a-Car (both headquartered in the Twin Cities) collaborated with well-respected commercial artist and wildlife painter Sherm Pehrson on a series of six jacket covers that were also available for sale as prints. (We are missing just the ‘Pheasant’ at this time):
