Timetables – Dolphin

“Almost an Airlink” – Tampa, Florida-based Dolphin started in December 1981 with a small fleet of Embraer Bandierante turboprops and quickly established a statewide commuter network, eventually reaching New Orleans, Louisiana and Charleston, South Carolina.

In November 1982, Dolphin signed a cooperation agreement with Northwest and moved into NWA’s ticket counter and gate space at Tampa. While not reaching the level of codeshare that would be common in the mid-1980s, Northwest promoted interline connections with Dolphin and vice versa going into spring and summer 1983.

However, financial issues at Dolphin led to cascading service pullbacks during fall 1993 and the carrier ran out of funds, shutting down in January 1984.
